    4 stroke pro xs oil leak

    Got a fix it letter from Mercury told me to look for a oil leak on top of the power head! Mine hase it if you have one of the new 4 stokes be on the look out for your letter and check your engine.

    Did they say what the cause was or just bring it in to have it fixed?

    It is the seal on the crankshaft they have a new design to replace it.

    My Son is a tech, and he said it's a recall for all new 4-Stroke 200, 225, and 250's. Take it to your shop, and it's replaced at no charge.

    Got the fix it letter. I pulled the coal off and oil was sprayed on the top of the motor. Hope the fix doesn't take long.

    I'm right at 50 hours and no signs of a oil leak... Unfortunately, when I got the mail last night there was another recall/bulletin about an oil passage that may be plugged and requires attention ASAP.

    Saw that on Mercury's website. It sounded like it affected a smaller population of the motors.
