    Question Command thrust or not?

    I’m buying a used boat with a 115 pro xs 4-stroke, serial #: 2B392618

Kind of a newbie question, but how do I know if it’s with command thrust or not?

Is there a link to look up my specific engine that will tell me that?

I did try searching the subject, but didn’t have any luck.

    Thanks in advance!

I was told the difference is the lower unit is the same as a 150 hp and has different gear ratio and can run a bigger prop to get on plane faster just my too cents

That’s what I heard too. I’m just not sure how to tell if that’s the way this engine is built.

That is command thrust. About the highest pitch you would see on a standard gear case would be 21. Usually 19 or 20. Plus the Tempest is the large bore prop. The standard gear case uses a smaller exhaust hub diameter.

Command thrust is a nice option for this hp class as it gives you alot more prop options with the large bore gearcase. If you pull the trigger i think you will like that setup.

If it has not been removed the gearcase should have a sticker, normally above the cavitation plate, that reads: 13 x 31 with 2.38 written just under those numbers. It may also have a sticker on the front on the engine cowling that reads: Command Thrust

The 115 ProXS 4S comes with the CT Gearcase.

Your serial number specifically comes back as: 115 ELPT PRO XS CT (Command Thrust) FOURSTROKE
