    helix 8 msi+ g3n screenshots

Anybody running a helix 8 msi+ unit ? I'm thinking about upgrading from a 5 di unit and would like to see some images from the 8. Any pics and user reviews would greatly appreciated.

The Helix 8 MEGA SI images look just like what the Helix 9, Helix 10 and Helix 12 does, just displays them smaller on the unit. Comes with the same SI transducer as the others.

I have the Helix 8 G3N SI. The clarity is unbelievable. The SI detail is the best I have seen in any unit.

Crappie school over a deep water brush pile on SI and 2D/DI with a HELIX 9 CHIRP MEGA SI+ GPS G3N

I was using a G2N MEGA transducer, so it's not MEGA+ or HW 2D … your results should be better
I didn't make any effort to tweak the image. I was more interested in trying to catch a few!

First screenshot shows the school on SI. Second screenshot shows navigating to my waypoint to get a look with 2D/DI

Really nice screenshots. Water depth in first shot shows 44 feet. Second shot shows 33 feet. Brush looks to be located on a pretty good drop. Sure hope you caught some, :)

The contour lines in the Chart view look very close together with the 50' range setting.

Brush pile is located off a steep rip rap wall, so your assumptions are correct

Unfortunately, I did not catch any of these fish. If you noticed the water temperature, I suspect it was just too warm and they did not want to bite. Additionally, I was struggling to keep my kayak over the spot because there was a brisk wind blowing that day. After losing a number of jigs I decided to cut my losses and try a few shaded docks nearby.

I caught a few, but nothing worth keeping. Things should pickup as we transition to fall and the water temperatures drop

Still a good day on the water!

All of Humminbird's Side Imaging models have some form of Down Imaging--either composite DI or dedicated DI. The Helix 8 MEGA SI+ GPS G3N has dedicated Down Imaging from a Down Imaging piezo in the SI transducer.
