    Thumbs Up Sam Rayburn Info.......

I have a lake house to stay at on the lake (near the Stump Restaurant area) and wanting to know when's the best time to go within the next month or two, at least prior to Thanksgiving. Not looking for anyone's secret places, etc. maybe certain areas to give it a shot and navigating the lake..... One of my main questions, can i just run around on the lake or is there trials/boat roads to follow?? Been once with someone else and that was probably 15 yrs. ago and dont remember any type of markings for running. My whole plan is to go during beginning of the week and hope there is not much traffic on the lake.....

    Thanks for any info.

Well I may be up there that weekend, whenever it is. U can run pretty much anywhere on the main arm south of Veach on the east side or Caney on the west side. The Ayish bayou arm, u can run just past needmore point with no worries.

We will be headed to Rayburn 10/23-10/27. Only our second trip there. I went ahead and ordered the boatlanes.com card to help with navigation for this trip. Running up there north of the bridge will keep you on you toes for sure. We will be launching from Monterey

Jeremy, I have been up there almost every weekend this year. Fished Media singles and team championship. My advice would be to wait until later in October or early November. We saw a ton of shad activity in the shallows this past weekend and it will only get better as the water cools. Hit me up on messenger if you need. - KB

Buy an old school paper map of Rayburn that shows the timber, and you’ll see that it’s pretty easy to run below the 147 bridge. To run above the bridge, or north of San Augustine park, buy the chip.

I have been fishing Aysh side lately and it is getting better every time. I would say it is pretty good all over. I have been fishing the pads with frogs and catching a bunch. Big fish are in the pads right now.

One thing no one mentioned are Ken Smith's videos on YouTube. He covers the lake very well from end to end. His stuff aligns pretty well with Boatlanes, I have both on my depth finder, can never have to much info!
