I am wandering if anyone has the same boat, what speeds you where getting, and what prop has worked best for you.
Im getting at WOT 5200 rpms
    My top speed is 52mph
both are with my wife and I in boat.

from everything I have read online I should be getting more on both.

    Thank you!

Do you know your prop to pad measurement?

Do you have a hot foot? If so are you getting 100% throttle?

What is your redline RPM? 5750?

Dealership set it up. I don’t know the exact measurement, but I do think the jack plate needs to come up some.
    No hot foot.
    5750 is redline

    Justin,

First of all welcome to the forum. You will find that there are a lot of knowledgeable people here that will be able to give you some help. You should definitely be able to get more than 5250 rpms with the 21 prop. My suggestion would be to scroll down the home page to the Triton boat section and post your questions there too. More than likely someone has the exact setup that you do and will be able to give you some first hand knowledge. You bought yourself a nice boat/motor, enjoy it. Terry

21 pitch what? Do you have a jack plate? All variables that need to be evaluated.

Sounds like you are not getting enough hull lift to gain the RPMs. Tritons have a rather deep deadrise and in order to optimize your pad performance you need to get this portion up, otherwise its just hull drag.

Based upon what you have described the prop does not have enough cup or is flexing. I can't imagine a dealer selling a bass boat with a black aluminum props but these will flex and would explain your problem in a nutshell. I am betting you have a Tempest plus which is the go to 3 blade for Merc setups and would not be the first to require a tune up out of the box.

Since you are only turning 5200rpms sounds like one of two things. You are not getting WOT, or you need to start coming up on your jack plate. Just watch your water pressure when coming up on the plate. You have the correct prop.

    i have a 2016 189 with a 21 pitch. I'm getting 54-55 reliably and 57 on the best day. That's turning right about 5700
