Another reason for me to dislike dropshot

I don't know if the pic will post directly from my phone but I busted the hell out of my depth finder screen with the weight from that cumbersome rig. I wonder if I can get the glass replaced.

Dang it man, you can probably send it in and have the screen replaced.

Beats the ever-living chit out of me . I pulled up on a spot and fished for 20 minutes. When I got behind the wheel I saw the broken screen with fresh glass dust around the hole. I was throwing a 3/8 oz tungsten tear drop weight. I lob it kind of like a c-rig to prevent it from tumbling end over end when casted. Nothing crazy. Odd thing was that I never heard or felt a thing. I even searched on the floor to see if there was a bullet. I can only assume that I hit the screen as I swung back to cast.

I'm going to contact HB to see if they'll do it.

HB does replace screens for $257.45. They'll also inspect the unit for any other issues, software updates, etc. and if it's determined that the unit is damaged, they'll send a complete replacement head at no additional cost. Turnaround time is 5-7 days.

Cost depends on unit. I busted my buddies helix 12 G2 with a dropshot that deflected off the seat as I pitched it. $405 plus tax.

Man, I used to do a lot of flipping as a youngster but I guess I got burned out at some point and have done very little of it over the last 20 years or so. I could learn a lot by spending a day or 2 in the boat with you using nothing but a flipping rod.
