    Mercury Service Bulletin 2019-10

Can anyone tell me what I need to be looking for? Detailed explanation and/or pictures would be very helpful. Thanks

Dealer is looking at mine next week, I think it has something to do with a seal on the engine.

Its a seal under the flywheel that could be leaking oil

I have been pulling my cowling every couple of trips and checking around the bottom side of flywheel and on the sides of the block. Looking for any sign of oil dripping or running down the side. Also, have been looking at the bottom on the engine to see if oil is pooling anywhere.....So far I haven't seen anything or noticed anyone posting pics of the actual leak...Hope this helps..

I called Mercury customer service not to long ago to ask an alternator question. I gave the rep my serial number and just before I was finished I asked if there were any service bulletins on the issue he looked up the bulletins for my 150 and said none were showing on the alternator. I would think you could still call give them your serial number and at least get an explanation on the 2019-10 and whether or not your serial number was involved. They may not give out that info but my call was less then two months ago so you may give it a try if you haven't already done so.

    Not good.
Saw a small amount in that general area
Thought it may have been from filling at oil change. Guess I better take a closer look.

Hey guys....it's super easy with Mercury to see all your parts & any service bulletins. Just follow this link, hit 'launch parts catalog' then enter your serial #. The service bulletins are there and show you step by step what the inspection method is, what the repair procedure is...everything.

Mine is leaking and falls inside the serial numbers. Also another bulletin about oil channel being drilled correctly.

Deadduck thanks for posting your pics. I didn’t know where to look and what it would look like. Mine is not as evident as yours but I do see a slight bit of oil splatter in the area.

Lucky that I have a authorized service dealer just down the street. This being a new fix I’m worried however that mine will be one of the first for them to work on. Looking at the service bulletin can’t tell if this is considered routine or a difficult fix.

Maybe I should wait another season before taking it in? Doesn’t seem as if it’s a big leak so not a big risk? Am I just being a worry wart?

Boilermaker this is a very straight forward repair I would not be concerned if your dealer has an experienced technician.
