    TIMING trouble

I did a link and sink just like the climbers book said and as always I can't get it to time anywhere close. It's off about 90* advanced. So when putting the light on the timing marks you have to look 90* on the starboard side. Could this be the stator is bad?

Model number please. You do have the timing light on # 1 cylinder, right?

Sounds like you are on the wrong cylinder, Clymers is about good for starting fires. Model number please.
