That looks pretty slick. Might hold out for one with a "spot lock" feature though. A automatic "scan" option would be nice too

They obviously infringed upon my idea!

I have mine working off a remote currently. Have plans to add wired foot controls. Had this put together for about 7 months. Used cornfields mount on an old power drive trolling motor that had a good steering motor but that was about it. Added a reversing relay, remote and voltage regulator to control the motor speed and I think I have about $35 into it beyond the parts I already had laying around.

Usually running from spot to spot I just pull it up as seen in one of the pictures. When towing the boat I store it in the down/stowed position. Works great haven’t had any problems. Have added a directional arrow at the top.

Other than being bulky you could pick up a used terrova or such to use just for livescope. Already has a remote control, foot pedal and autopilot to keep it locked on a object.

This would be separate from your trolling motor. Could maybe take the motor completely off or just remove the prop.

Thats what I did, I am only utilizing the steering motor and shaft. I removed the head and lower unit. I wanted to run the cord through the shaft but the plug was too large so I had to incorporate the cornfield crappie mount to externally run the cable. I can get over 360 degree rotation without the cord binding. I thought about incorporating an autopilot feature like the old Power Drive and Terrovas features with the bubble and sight glass but those were flakey at best in rough water.

Holding the target in manual mode is not good. Make better use of automatic tracking.

Im curious how this would work with the "legacy" compass autopilot setting on the minnkota. THis is what I use VS the "advanced" mode which uses GPS. Seems to work pretty well on the troller. Wonder if it would keep the livescope on a target accurately?
