Minnkota maxxum pro ?
Any information on them? Pro/con? If you where in the market for a used trolling motor, would you buy one?

I brought one brand new in 2007. I replaced the mount last year and have done only minor work to it. My next step will be to replace the torn jacket and then put a 112 motor on it.

I bought a Maxxum Pro 80 from a board member on here when I was visiting my son in Kansas City last year. Replaced a Maxxum 65, just wanted some more power for river fishing. Yes, they are stout trolling motors and easy to work on.

Yes, I would definitely buy the MAXXUM Pro. The pro series has a built in lift assist and it Is the same motor used on the Fortrex and Ultrex. Minn Kota stopped making the Pro series mount when the Fortrex came out but they made Lift Assist standard on Fortrex and Ultrex.
I try to drive as if my 16 year old Grandson is following me

Thank you all!
Bill Reynolds - I was wondering if that was the case.

The lift assist takes a lot of slop out of the bushings. A good thing.
