That’s awesome. What kind of speeds are you seeing with the 300?
Still breaking it in an playing with props.
cant wait to see it up close this weekend Matt
Congrats from Northern Cali
So BCB must be happy with it now if they’re putting it into production. Wonder if they plan on discontinuing any 20’ models?
Congrats Matt. I know you have been waiting for this for quite a while.

I always think its funny that one of the first questions is "how fast will it run". More concerned about cost. You know it will do at least 70, I can do 75 in my 07 Puma on glass. But once the water become choppy, you aren't going any faster than anyone else.
It’s not that funny really. When someone puts a 300 on a 20’ bass boat that tells me that he’s at least got above average speeds in mind, so an inquiry about speed is really a pretty benign question. I’d say cost is a pretty simple question also; we know what BCB 20’ normally run price wise, why would this one be drastically different?
Honestly with the depth to the sides and the deadrise of the hull it looks like a bigger version of a 90's Eyra.
Not even close.
I’m looking forward to this boat being produced and hearing your thoughts on it. Unique boat for sure. I’d sit in the garage and stare at it if it were mine haha.
No models will be replaced, this is just a hull option for the Hybrid hull. The pricing is the same as the other Puma FTD and Cougar FTD models. Production is set to begin end of November to December.
Most of the actual staff has not experienced it. Some ran the prototype before it was refinished and cleaned up, very few ran it afterwards. Indications are it’s between 4-8 MPH under a normal Bass Cat and the ride is similar to that of a Champion, only drier.
your welcome to contact the sales staff as two in the upper offices did manage to drive it.
I always appreciate your honesty. Most of the old school Champ guys don’t mind giving up a few mph.
Yes, the older 202 and 203 hulls were also lighter as they were narrow beam with small storages, and most had smaller 30’ish gallon fuel tanks.
I owned a 2001 203 for over 11 years and then moved into a 2011 puma. I have been following these rumors of the hybrid for quite some time as the only thing I missed about my 203 was the ride. It is the only boat I've ever owned that rode better when going into the waves instead of with them. The 203 was a very wet boat, whereas the Puma is one of the driest riding boats I've ever been in. I can honestly say that if I were to buy a new bassboat, this hybrid would be the only boat on my list. Great job BCB, I can't wait to hear more from Matt once he gets some good seat time in his new boat. I also owned an '88 champ super vee and 2 202s a 1995 and a 1996.
Forgot to add, congrats on your badass rig Matt!

Nice rig Matt. I am the original owner of a 96 191 elite. I have a 2013 Puma. My new 300 powered Lynx will arrive in a couple weeks. Love the champ ride, BCB quality. Your new rig makes me wonder if I made a mistake? Can’t wait to hear how the hybrid runs

Will the hybrid hull only be available on the Puma, or are there plans to offer it as an option on the Cougar too?
