07 Optimax High Idle at Neutral

I’ve been having this issue for a few months that would maybe happen once a month, now it’s happening frequently in one trip. At neutral I have an unusually high idle, sometimes when I crank it, sometimes when I shift out of gear. Once I shift it in gear rpms drop to normal. I’ve checked the throttle linkage and hotfoot and they don’t appear to be sticky at all. I’m not getting a warning that I am aware of. I plan on hooking up my vessel view Mobil and trying to recreate it with water muffs tomorrow. My obvious thoughts are maybe throttle position sensor, but I’ve read that tracker valves(diaphragm) going bad can cause idle issues. Any other ideas?

Mine was tpi but if it is does it upon cranking or killing it out and restarting doesn’t fix it then that makes it unlikely as the tpi “zeroes” with each key reset.

Were you guys have the same issue where it goes back to normal when you shift it in gear?
