    Fuel Demand Valve Sealant

    I asked this in the General Bassboat Topics as well.

    I am hoping I can pickup what I need in the morning. I have an integrated fuel demand valve that appears to have failed. Heavy fuel smell in bilge with no
    other apparent leaks. I have the new part but am wondering what type of sealant is used on the threaded portion where the hose adapter screws in? It has the appearance almost like plumbers putty but I am certain that isn’t it due to the fuel exposure. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Form-A-Gasket 2 used on most fuel and gas (Vapor) threaded connections. Get it at your local automotive supply stores.

    We use permatex thread sealant for all threaded fittings at work. Good stuff works on fuel oil water air you name it.
