    Loomis Conquest 905C Question

Hey Guys....looking for some first hand feedback here.

I'm looking for a rod that can serve as a back up punching/heavy flipping rod (3/4oz to 1-1/14oz) and also handle umbrella rigs and smaller large swimbaits. I have a number of other Loomis rods (NRX, Conquest, GLX) but zero first hand experience with this model. Does anyone out there who's fished one of these feel it can handle this application? Thanks for any help provided.

It can do all that. It’s borderline too strong for an umbrella rig. I have one but I don’t use it often. I wish the was a rod between Conquest 904C and 905C. The 905 feels at least two power heavier to me.

Do you feel it's a heavy (overall rod weight) in hand? Tip heavy?

Not really. It’s pretty well balanced. It’s just a very heavy powered rod.
