    Curado 70 help

    I have a Curado 70HG and when I flip the switch on the sideplate to open it will not open.

    Got it. Was thinking it popped straight out but you have to turn sideplate downwards.

    I have 1 of those reels- the drag works itself off and I have to retighen it- cost me few fish learning this— anybody else have this issue

    Not with a Curado 70 (don't own one), but have had it happen with other reels. Not sure why as it doesn't always happen. I figured it was probably my fault. Maybe hitting the drag star on my clothes without realizing it. Only happens when sitting in my brother-in-law's dinghy. Never at home where I am standing up 99% of the time.

    I have three 70 HG's and never a problem.Is the nut under the drag star tight?

    The nut under the drag star is what the drag star is loosening and tightening to adjust the drag. The drag star is it's wrench. Brian.

    A guide i know said there discontinuing the 70 and not making any more.

    I would be shocked if they are being discontinued, it seems like it was a pretty popular seller. Now I wouldn't be surprised if they were planning an update for it.
