    Replace trolling motor brushes

How difficult is it to replace the brushes in the the trolling motor? Any keys to success? Motor running fine just wanting to try this as a possible solution to the RF interference on my bow mounted graph. I am not a marine mechanic but moderately handy with such things. Feedback saying leave this to the mechanics is fine if this is a tricky upgrade.

Very easy to replace. Just take it apart and slide the brushes out of their holder and slide the new one in. I have replaced a dozen or so for myself and friends. Takes about 20 minutes from start to finish.

Piece of cake. There is a YouTube video on it, of course.

You can also find a new o-ring and fasteners to throw in while you're at it if you want to go the extra mile. I did both, agreed that it's very quick and easy.

Wirecare.com has some expandable sleeving that I used. It blocks RFI on cables. It worked great.

Never have worn a set of brushes out! Ever! I have 220 volt pool pumps that run 24-7 and they will go at least 5 years before needing brushes.
I would just work on eliminating your inference issue. New brushes are not going to fix it.

Can you provide a link for what you bought? I would like to try it on my transducer cable on my TM.

For the interference, I found this alternative: https://smile.amazon.com/Tinned-Copp.../dp/B01BIBQESG
    Lowe Stinger 18HP
    Optimax 115 ProXS

3/8” expands to about 11/16”. May have to try that for the fat LOW cable ends.
