    Green river lake

A few questions about GRL heading down to fish next week
when do they start to drop the lake?
can you recommend a good place to put in at with a courtesy dock as I will be fishing by myself?
Hopefully the heat will pass and good colder weather will get em biting for me
Any navigation hazards to watch for I have not been on the lake in a long time, I have good navionics mapping?
    thanks in advance
    Bother Jim

They typically dont start dropping it till the end of november. Not any huge dangers on the main lake, just use your maps and your head and youll be fine. Ramp 1 and lone valley (state park) have courtesy docks and are very nice ramps. It has fished pretty tough here at the end of the summer as usual and they dont seem to have made a big fall push yet. If you get bored bass fishing you can always pick up a big white spinnerbait and try to tangle with a musky. I havent been on the lake to help with the bass fishing but if you decide to target musky send me a message and ill give ya a couple areas to hit

I recommend Emerald Isle. Smaller ramp but not much traffic for going alone which I typically do as well. Have a small restaurant etc if you want breakfast etc. Friends are down there right now and as mentioned its fishing tough. Next week is looking to be a REALLY hot stretch so personally I would put this trip off a couple weeks or so.

There is standing timber in the middle up the river near the bridge and above the bridge and also the last three or four turns before the bridge in Robinson Creek.

That's what we are going there for, but I'm not looking for any specific fishing info. I'm more curious to know the water temp before we get there.
I've been searching for past tourney results and it looks like the lake puts out some nice fish.

Was wondering what the water temps are like too.

It’s hard to guess since it just cooled off from the hottest September ever.

I hope to be on the lake all next week if I get my boat fixed up.

I know it always fishes really tough for me in the Fall. I’m just glad its finally
cooled off enough for me to fish again.

Water temps fell about 10 degrees in the last week. Lakes fishing really good taking 16-18lbs to win anything but you can expect that to drop down to 13-15lbs as the fall transition hits. I know how the bigger bags have been caught the last few weeks but its old info and the fish will be moving soon if they havent already. I havent been out there in over a month so i cant speak from firsthand knowledge

Kbeasley62: The USA Bassin has a Classic for all the Co-ed teams that accumulate 250 points in a season.

Thanks Fishin. I didn't think the weights would drop that much in the fall, but I never fished the lake either. I am guessing it will take about 30-32lbs to win a 2 day tourney. We will soon find out.

it wont take quite that much. Likely nobody will duplicate 15lb days back to back unless you have some locals fishing it. 27-28lbs will likely do it unless somebody busts a big bag one day which is always possible. Be a lot of 7-10lb bags weighed im sure. A lot will depend if they go full blown fall patterns whenever your tourny is

Tuesday 10/8 water temp on the main lake was 75.5 - 76 from noon until dark. I know this is info is from earlier in the week and with this weekends cold front I suspect it to drop a lot more.

Still around 75 today. Morning started pretty good but it fell off quick. Picked up late evening or we got on some, tournament hours? We had 30 for 22lbs
