Advice needed for gel coat repair and hole filling

I have purcahse both marine-tex and evercoat, and I'm ordering metal flake from Bass Cat. Some of the repairs are straight forward, but I would like to fill some 1/4" and 1/2" holes and blend them with the gel. Should I fill the holes with marine-tex, then cover that with evercoat, or would it be more complicated than that to make the evercoat adhere?

    Thanks in advance

A 1/2" hole should be beveled out and resin glass laid in it, marine tex or gel will not adhere and stay. The smaller one you could get by with marine tex id say.

Gel doesn't like to stick to Marine Tex. I would get a quart of this stuff and maybe some cabosil or mat (if the holes are big). If it's just cosmetic you can just thicken up some resin with cabosil and use that to fill the holes

Maybe the Evercoat will work the same, I was just told that polyester is best if you're going to put gel over it.
