    Curious Minds Want to Know

I obviously have too much idle time on my hands right now and not sure why this question even entered into my mind but here goes anyway - what sort of effect does the motor’s lower unit have on sidescan images - especially as you reach out to the 100’- 125’ range? Seems to me that the port side would be significantly impacted (assuming the standard starboard installation of the transducer). Appreciate any thoughts.

Most Bass boats have jackplates and the skeg is typically no where’s near the transducers beam.

I use a portable mount most of the time, so I just lower the xdcr lower in the water when scanning

Mine is mounted under the setback on my Ranger so it is not affected but there is a y cable that allows you to mount two transducers (one on each side of motor) to compensate for your installation.

    Thanks! I’ll look into that.

I find tilting the motor up helps with the image at times on mine.

. Easy, mount one transducer on port side of the motor and mount the other on the Starboard side. The Y cable disables the crystals in the respective transducer so it only looks outwards therefore avoiding an obstacle.

    No.
Tis cable is NOT for using two LSS-transducers originally ment for transom mounting. It is for the LSS-elements buildt for through-hull mounting (000-11460-001). Those have only one set of elements in each transducer, one port and one starboard. Using the Y-cable with the usual LSS will not work since that has both sides in one (each) transducer.
