Can’t get 2d to show on Helix 12 chirp

Good morning all! I have a Helix 12 chirp and a Helix Mega chirp g2n connected at bow along with Ultrex 360. For some reason I can’t get 2d on my Helix 12. It won’t show up in my menu as a option. I tried restoring defaults on both units and messing around with connected transducer options. 360 shows up on both units. Even if I just turn on Helix 12 no 2d. Thanks in advance!!

Do you have sonar turned on? If not I don’t think you will see the sonar screen.

Is the Helix 12 a Gen1 model and what transducer is connected to it?

Yes it is a gen 1 unit with original transducer. It was working fine. I Shared transducer With the Helix 10. I mainly wanted Helix 12 for 360 only. I wanted the 360/2d option that I did have.

Do both units have a transducer connected? How are you sharing transducer with the Helix 10. Are you using same power up sequence as before when it worked?

I am using the Helix 12 chirp transducer that came with unit. That is mounted to the trolling motor. The Helix 10 is connected through the Ethernet box as well as 360. I always power up the Helix 12, 360 and the Ultrex. I don’t always use the Helix 10 unless I’m vertical jigging. The units can become glitchy when I have the two bow units on. Changing screens, and or pop up boxes. I understood that I would only have capabilities of the Helix 12 as opposed to the Helix 10. That’s why I shared the 12 transducer.

Any progress? Maybe start disconnecting units from the network and see if you can get 2d sonar back somehow.

I tried working with the units today out on the water. Finally got 2d to show up on screen but it seems frozen. Reading 900 to 1800 ft. Thought maybe transducer was bad. I then turned on Helix 10 to show 2d and it was reading fine. Turned on 360 and it locked up Helix 10 and I had to unplug at cable collector. Both units were reading 12 volts.

Wonder if issue with your 5 port Ethernet?
Doubt this helps but next time out try setting your max depth to whatever the deepest possible depth you'll use for that body of water. It simplifies the options the unit will use to range the bottom.
