    Best TIGHT knot

I'm looking for a tight, cinched down knot that stays where you slide it on a jig eyelet, ie vertical "damiki" rigging small plastics so they hang horizontally in the water.

So far I've settled on a 5 turn uni with the line passing through the eye twice...but oftentimes the secondary loop slides out from underneath the main loop. Cumbersome to tie with cold/wet fingers too.

The San Diego jam was promising, but I experienced multiple breakoffs with that knot...doing 5 turns down and once through the top loop.

I usually go with a kreh loop for nearly all jig/jigheads, but obviously this won't work for damiki rigging. My go-to cinch-down knot, the Orvis, doesn't grab the jig line tie tight and it also cocks out to one side, listing light jigheads sideways.

    I'm using 5 or 6lb floro leader.

    Any suggestions?

San Diego Knot is what I use for the last 5 years. I have not had one breakoff. I always loop it 6 times then wet it.

Try trying a few strands of mono on with over hand knots up the eye to where you want your knot to sit. This will stop it from sliding.

Brilliant, I've been cutting off a uni to act as a slider. Thanks!

San Diego Knot is what I use as well and have not had any issues with breaking off. Use on mono and fluorocarbon lines.
