    Jackplate switch near transom

Has anyone seen a need for a switch for the jackplate near the transom? Similar to a trim switch you find on the side of the motor cowling.

Thinking about mounting a momentary switch either I. The bulge area or on the top cap/transom area.

I agree. Wish I had one myself.

When I got my boat with a hydraulic jack plate, I really considered doing this and even bought the switch but after I got used to it I'm glad I didn't. I have the Atlas and according to the operation manual it trailers all the way down, so when I load it is all the way up and once its on the trailer and the motor off, I run the plate all the way down. Once the boat is tied down I have found no reason to move the jack plate.

The time that I would like one is when I get the boat back home and put it in the garage. I have to have the backplate up in order to trim the motor all the way down.

Just be careful. One guy in my club got his hand smashed by his motor using the trim-tilt switch at the motor. The same thing could happen with an additional switch.

I mounted a switch inside the battery compartment under the rear lid,
since I use blinker trim switches at the wheel I used the switch that came with my Bobs 10 inch in the rear compartment.
