    Ox66 oil link adjustment

I think my oil link is out of adjustment. I keep fouling plugs, like almost a set every tank. Tomorrow, I'm going to do the measuring procedure in the manual, but I wanted another set of eyes. Here's a picture of my link adjustment.

To me, it looks like I have easily 1/8" of a gap between the an and stop pin. The manual stated it should be touching. This is with the throttle blades closed, disconnected from the throttle linkage. Is that what it looks like to yall? Looks like I need to adjust it a good bit down? Thanks for the help, Clayton.

Looks too wide of a gap for it to be the 1mm spec according to the shop manual.

What oil are you using? Yamalube? If so, switch to Pennzoil and watch the fouling issue disappear. Or all but.

That's the picture I was looking at in the manual as well. Just wanted to make sure. I bought the boat about a year ago. The previous owner said he only ran yamalube. I really like quicksilver premium plus, so I switched it to that. My motor seems to be really sensitive on plugs. It will develop a miss really quick with fouled plugs.

I switched to Amsoil and 1 range hotter NGK plugs... All fouling has gone away. I also adjusted my oil rod to almost touch the roll pin at idle.

Which ones are those? I'm assuming I can run them with the premium plus oil?

The NGK BHS8-10 is a hotter plug than the NGK BHS9-10. If your fouling plugs it may help. But if you’re over oiling, that needs to be corrected first.

Got it fixed today. Thank you guys for all the help. I ended up having to grind the arm some to get the proper adjustment. Also, my threaded end was broken and I didn't know it. They don't give those ends away, $17 for a small piece of plastic. Regardless, I got her back going again.

Thinking outside the box! Grinding was the way I got mine within specs.
