    Underspin

Do any of you use them and when. Clear water only? What are you fishing them with?

The lake I live on is a clear water lake and I use them often. I use a under spin on a paddle tail

I threw one for the first time last winter on Toledo Bend and now I always have one tied on. Clear water, stained water, dirty water - doesn't matter. I rig it with a paddle tail - usually a Skinny Dipper or a Little Dipper.

I've tried a bunch of the lead head, exposed hook underspins and so far I like the Buckeye and Fishhead Spin ones the best but there's still lots more to try. I've also become a fan of the Owner Flashy Swimmer. Can rig it weedless and swim it through the nasty stuff and there are several blade options for it.

I've had good luck with these, more so than the heavier duty one.

Here are a couple of other options:

Biwaa™ also makes great swimbaits to be attached to single hooks..

I'm really liking these with a Kaiteck 3.8. I use super glue to hold the plastic.

Coolbaits one is great I just wish it came with a bigger hook. 3/0 on a 3/8oz would be better

I have been using them a lot with great success. Owner Flashy Swimmer with several sizes of the Keitech.

What kind of gear are you guys throwing these with? Spinning with 10lb fluoro? Baitcasting with 15lb fluoro?

    Thanks

Don’t do it, you cannot catch any fish on underspins

For real though, don’t sleep on the maribo underspins... black with a silver Colorado blade, usually on a med/medium light spinning rod. Muddy, clear, green...they catch fish. 15# braid with a 10# fluorocarbon leader

I use casting gear and a 7.1:1 reel with 12 or 14 lb fluoro.
