I didn't hit my snooze this morning, and I must say, I'm really exploring the space. Can't help but wonder if the pet plant market has killed off our bees?

I think lawnmowers kill a lot more honey bees than venus fly trap plants....at least mine does. I wish I had a way to "shoo" off the bees when I get ready to cut my clover and dandelion field of a back yard.

I doubt a venus has ever killed a bee. I could be wrong there but the total number is still going to be very low. A pitcher plant might get a few that try to get a drink and can't get out. I agree that lawnmowers are far harder on bees than any plant
I didn't think Marijuana was legal here in Virginia...
and the fist thing I thought of is that it was a WKRP bit..lol
A Venus flytrap doesn't discriminate, so it a bee hits two of it's triggering hairs in the right time-frame, it's going to snap shut. Whether or not a bee could brute-force its way out is another thing, but I sort of doubt it. Regardless, I think the impact of domestic Venus flytraps is probably negligible, though I don;t have any data to prove it.
Traps have no way of telling what they are eating. They don't have a brain.
Bee's are being killed off by a few different things. Pesticides on crops, fruit trees, your grass, any chemical that is sprayed on flowering plants. Bees pollinate the flowers and take that pesticide back to their hives with them. The European Union banned a handful of chemicals that farmers use. They are leading the charge it would seem.
Round up weakens their immune system and other parasites and disease finish’s them off. That is the last research I read

Our pollinators face a number of significant hazards...
Venus fly traps aren't among them.

Around here farmers spray soybeans to kill grass. Doesn't kill the soybean, but when the honeybees feed from the soybean flower it kills them. Tons of soybeans around here. (A guy just put 15 bee hives on my property)
Venus fly traps are quite rare and inconsequential to honey bees. A lack of wildflowers and varroa mites are the primary reasons for low honey bee populations. The role of neonicotinoids is under study and the data is not clear. The EU banned this chemistry for use as seed treatments and have not seen the hoped for rebound in honey bee populations.

Anyone need that info for Amla (The world's most powerful anti-oxidant) Holy Basil and Ashwagandha ?

I am a Bee expert having watched Jerry Steinfeld's "Bee" Movie on Netflix twice. I think the Fly lands on the Goo with his feet (Yes flys have feet) where a Bee has those powerful wings to back out of a Bad situation>
I do believe Jethro asked Elli Maye this very same question on the BHBs,
I don't know about flytraps but the bees found my hummingbird feeder and they think it's a picnic.
