    Diacom Marine Service Report

Pulled data from my motor tonight, printed the report then scanned them to get jpeg files to post. Opened a new thread hoping it will be easier to keep organized. Bought my boat in May 2012 with 151 hours and now has 312 hours. I have the diagnostic report from May 2012.

I can email the report also.

Will it clear the codes to start with a fresh slate?

    Any adjustments needed to calibrate?

I pulled the data and printed it as you see it. It was pretty straight forward. There were two options for clearing stuff but I didn't do it yet. I'll do it after I make sure I have all data I need from the PCM and will start with a clean slate.

It looks like the Starboard Head Overheat fault at 312.02 hours was the last fault I had when on the lake and I'll need to address that. Hopefully someone can chime in about that. Maybe a thermostat that didn't open. When I ran the motor on the muffs while winterizing, both thermostats opened/closed with no problems but I already flushed out the compressor strainer port at that point.

I didn't save the page that said there were no active faults.

BOB will it show coolant temps on both cyl heads individually while running, or does it just have coolant temp

Reports look fairly comprehensive for an aftermarket diagnostic tool, might put that one on my "wish list".

Not sure, I winterized my motor and will not be running it on the muffs for testing until April or May.

EDIT: Joe, I just looked at the first page and it shows Starboard and Port coolant temps separately. Hopefully it will show real time temps with the motor running.

After studying the different pics after Joe's question, the first page has port and starboard coolant temps which was at 59. The trouble codes only show coolant temp. The Starboard Head Overheat fault shows temp at 176.00.

I'm open for all evaluation of the data.

Yes it does. I’ve had this system for several years now and you can watch both cylinder heads come up to temp individually while running.

The most recent fault was the STB Overheat, and the block pressure was pretty low when it occurred (much too low for 844 RPM's).

Address that before getting it back into service.

Thanks Don. Is the block pressure the same as the Manifold Air Pressure (14.05 psi) when the Starboard Head Overheat fault happened? I see block pressure listed in the parameter description on the first page.

    Block pressure is water pressure.

    Thanks Savage!

Does Sea Pump Pressure on my readout = Block Pressure?

Yes. Note the sea pump pressure during starboard overheat - 0.89psi.

    What is "FINJ5 Open"?

    Thanks for the responses.

I was looking at a Mercury DDT PDF last night that showed "Block Pressure" in the same place that Diacom listed "Sea Pump Pressure" on my printouts. The odd thing about the overheat alarm was that after I turned off the motor and restarted all was good. The water pressure at idle and during the run back to the ramp was good and when running on the muffs at home. I'm glad I got the Diacom Marine software so I can see the fault codes and determine if I can troubleshoot the problem or take it to a Mercury mechanic.

Based on the data, my action plan for next Spring is to check the block water fitting and hose to the water pressure sensor for any obstruction. I'll be changing the impeller at this point too. Then monitor the port and starboard coolant temps individually with Diacom running and hooked up to the motor while running on the muffs. If nothing appears out of order I'll probably order a temp sensor for replacement. I have 2 thermostats and gaskets already in case I need them. If there is any flaws in my action plan, I'm open for all ideas.
