I haven't tried Lucas but i can tell you Mobil 1 works great just be sure before you use it your motor is broken in properly and the rings are seated.
lucas or amsoil, best there is period-- some engine builders I know prefer semi synthetic oil over full synthetic also for best protection

Ran Lucas M8 full synthetic in my Ranger Cool hubs and Yamaha VMax Lower for years, no issues and good stuff. Academy has best deals I found.

Seems like outboard manufacturers are still running blended oils rather than full syn. There must be a specific reason i figure. That being said i run semi synthetic lucas oil in the green truck in my avatar and its awesome my outboard will stick with oem personal preference.
