The small rocks pass thru and anything bigger than a marble don’t go thru and stop by the grate. Rocks aren’t a concern but grass and leaves clog the intake real easy. Can’t run thru heavy weed and when the river is full of floating leaves, I stay home.

In the fall I remove my grates if we have good water flow. It chews them right up

So much fun can be had when you get to skinny water that no one else has.

Brilliant! why didn't I ever thought of that? but then you take a chance of sucking up a rock that could damage the impeller.

At the very least, a suicide knob on the steering wheel looks like a must!

True, which is why I only do it if I'm fishing in an area that I know has enough water to not be an issue. Stainless impeller isnt breaking tho - it will however shear the key, so carry a few extras and some knee high boots when the waters cold

It is fun getting to the secluded areas! I also get a lot of funny looks from people and asked "how did you get a boat here?"

Josh - I am leaving my grates in! I also run an aluminum impeller though. They are not very tough.

Castingcall - a knob might be a good idea!

Cool run. Where's the guys saying they'd take their glass boat through that?
