    Steering Wheel Clearance

Anyone running a precision sonar bracket at the console with a 12" Humminbird or Lowrance and having issues with the unit being too close to the steering wheel? This is going to be on a Pantera if that matters...and it would like like the pic attached. Is the tilt wheel required to make this work?

Tall guy and I think that will put the wheel into my legs.

Can't you just drill a couple of new holes and put that a little higher up on the plate that it's currently mounted on?

This is what I would do, then put some screws in the "other" holes to hide the holes.

Best to just drill holes where they are needed. I have a Sherms mount and with my steering adjusted in the upper position it nearly hits my fingers. I just bump the steering one click lower. (Tilt steering). However, at 5'8" I don't have an issue with the steering wheel and my legs.

I would say that if your going to put a 12 mounted like that and do not have a tilt wheel ,I would think a spacer would be best option. If you do not have a tilt wheel I think the spacer would move wheel closer and upwards to you instead of putting it in your lap.

Is a tilt and spacer option available? This should solve any potential problems.
