Couple year old unit. Just switched to a 3 in 1 transducer on the trolling motor, probably a coincidence. Halfway through fishing today it goes so dim i can barely see it. Its not on night mode and adjusting the brightness on the setting doesn't do anything. Tried hard and soft resets. Any other tricks to adjust the brightness other than tapping the power button?
Mind did that tried several things I took it out of standby it worked fine from then on
This is news to me. A 3 in 1 shouldn’t work on a Gen 3. Carbon and Live only.

What NoCAl said, that transducer is not compatible with your HDS GEn 3. I`m aware you can get it to work "somewhat ok" but I would not recommend it. Anyway, check power (bring up voltage as screen overlay, that should be well above 12V all through the day), save waypoints and do a hard reset. (Don`t save settings)
Totalscan is a 3 n 1 right? totally works fine with a HDS.

Lowrance recommended adjusting the brightness in the controls... hard and soft resets, nothing changed. Have to send it in.
Before sending it in, check with a compatible transducer! It may just be that the 3 in 1 connection is causing all your problems. It is not compatible with a Gen 3.

Tried disconnecting the ducer. Same brightness. I believe I actually have the right total scan transducer and was incorrect in my original statement about which transducer I added. Got it from Jones and they said it was compatible with my gen 3.
