I'm looking at buying a used boat but it has some keel damage on it. Its a woodless nauticstar and the damage is about 8" long. The owner did it four years ago and never got it patched.
Should I work a deal or run away?

As long as the area is not soft it’s not a big deal. I would fix it though...

Second that. Is it above the water line or below and/or how much water has been absorbed? Looks like you are in the glass pretty good. It can be fixed but if the guy is serious about selling that he should have it professionally fixed.

in spots it looks like it down to the glass mat and probably sucked in some water over 4 years I would be a little hesistant or have it checked by someone knowledgable in that field

Wouldnt a keelguard installed over it seal it up? I would think so but im no expert.
