Taking a trip up that way the second week of October. Looking for somewhere to stay. Would prefer safe, boat freindly with easy access to the lake. Also, how is the fishing there that time of the year? What should we expect.

Bluewater resort.
If you want up the lake and on the water, Bluewater (Dayton) would be my choice.
If you want up the lake but at a motel. there are several good ones in Dayton.
If you want mid lake, Island Cove Marina (Harrison).
If it doesn't cool off pretty soon (92 today), October will be a bad as September has been.

I just stayed at Holiday Inn at Dayton. It was boat friendly and wonderful.

+2. I stayed there Labor Day week. great place and very nice people, accommodations, and different types of lodging are available.
