Who said anything about gouging ?? Gouging and market fluctuations aren't the same thing.

Any little thing happens that may affect any miniscule part of the oil supply, and the wall street folks jump up the price because they know it will cause a panic, and make them money.

That's how things work....been around long enough to know that.......don't need you to tell me.

Since we are on “the petrodollar” we signed an agreement to keep Saudi safe. Someone attacked Saudis major income source. We’re all going to pay for it. Since an Iranian backed group is claiming credit, it’s a real world tender box. I’ve read that Russia, Venezuela, China, and others like them buy Iran’s oil. I’m not an oil expert. If that’s true it’s ugly, we’re already paying for decades of trade imbalance with China. Bought a pack of beef hotdogs lately?

I also think we export export refined products, not oil. Don’t we still import lots of oil? Why would we be tapping oil reserves if we exported oil?

Edit: I found we do import more than we export, but we are getting much closer to independence.

The longevity of the oil price spike will be in the amount of damage to the Saudi facility. If its a quick fix, it wont last long.
