helix update help. keeps asking to update to older version

I have a helix g2n msi and updated to the latest 2.11

on power up it keeps asking if i want to revert to older version


ive done restore defaults multiple times

is there any way to get rid of that update to older version screen ?

no card in other than lake maps

Take that card out too .... maybe sometin on it you don't know about.

Have you checked to see if that update actually worked. They are very picky about which exact model you have vs. what you downloaded. Bob

yes all features are there and screen even says latest. works fine just asks every time if i want to put the old version on

Do you have your phone bluetoothed to your unit? If so, open the fish smart app and make sure it connects to your unit and displays that the units are up to date too. I seem to have read where someone was having a similar issue and, for what ever reason, the app still showed the old update version as the current version. Then after it connected to the unit again it switched and displayed that the unit was up to date. Maybe the older file is coming from that? Just something to try.... if you have used your phone with the app before.

How about unchecking the software version if that is still listed in the app?

I am having the same issue with helix gn2. Currently have 2.110 installed, App says update available 1.610. I have deleted app, removed all chips and reinstalled app.

Unit shipped with 1.610 I assume so it wants to go back to factory loaded software erroneously thinking that it is newer software. I'd hate to see so many updates done on the same unit but have you let it go back and then updated back to 2.180? Ask Humminbird about it and see if that is even advisable, it may not.

Have you owned unit long enough that it had to have the background maps updated or did you buy the unit after that update came preloaded? (are they up to date)
