Just to add to the above - not a single problem using it with my SHO.

Would I have to replace the battery trays? What are the measurements of this battery?
I am sure Drew will pipe in which is great but also wanted thoughts from other users as well....
    I have a full set.

I can fish two hard days without a charge.
I could probably do the third ,but i would be cheating the day.

I knew going in there could be a problem with cold. But being in Texas i figured it wouldn't affect me that much.

I have had a starting problem the last several trips. But am working it out.
They seem to not like cold, and i would say driving down the road at 75 for 2 hours, most likely makes them colder.
Going to a power plant lake they are fine. The water temps are in the 80 so a splash in the lake and a few minutes and they are ready.

I like them ,, the boat really likes them,
After redoing the prop and finding the right setting shes all i need.

So, what temperatures would these be OK to fish in? Are we talking about not fishing when the weather is below 40 degF or what?

Here in MO, that would take away 3-4 months of the year, depending on weekend weather (which we know is always worse when you want to go fishing).

I will be fishing in below freezing weather soon - will let you know. My boat however stays in a heated garage which makes a difference.

would you be willing to leave it out in the cold the night before for research purposes. Maybe just leave it out and try and crank it over in the driveway on a week day and see if it starts or not. That way it doesn’t ruin a day of fishing.

Haus will try to do that just to test it out. I suppose if there was ever a concern you could also take the battery out of the boat and inside just on the coldest of days. However no problems this weekend with temps right around 30 and ice on the ramp. Battery didn't act any differently and turned right over. Glad it wasn't a problem because we ended up winning our tourney with a nice 18.2 bag of 5 very cold smallies!

I was at Lake Powell in Southern Utah from 28 Oct till 3 Nov, first couple nights the lows were in the 20"s with a daytime high of 42, trolling motor batteries worked as advertised without any issues. Fished a 3 day tournament and not one issue (1-3 Nov the nighttime lows ranged from 30-35 with daytime high in the low 50s). Boat was outside 24/7 the entire time I was down there. I have a regular AGM s a cranking battery though and it did not like the cold earlier in the week.

My first weekend with the 125ah starter this past weekend. I had the Duracell 31AGM and it was approaching 3 years old. Some signs lately that it had lost some of its punch, so I made the switch. It was 38F at launch and had no issue starting the SHO. Never put graphs on standby and ran recirc on manual solid from 9am-4:15. Didn’t fire the big motor from 10am-3:15 because we were on a hot spot. App showed 85% at 3:15!! Super impressed!
