Minn Kota Ultrex problem/ question.

I’ve got a 1yr old Ultrex. Went fishing this morning and when I put trolling motor down in water there was a loud pop. Motor doesn’t turn over. Still has power to it. Steering works and buttons. When it’s in the water and you push the pedal there are bubbles by prop. Pulled prop off and motor spins free. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Wow. I will take a free guess. The motor has an internal short and the bubbles are boiling water. I think at this point it sucks to be you. It had an internal water leak that has ruined the armature.
Time's up, that was my guess.

Is it possible the pop noise was from a circuit breaker tripping? The bubbles may be from water intrusion. At any rate, I'd be rushing to the nearest ASC...LOL

Is it possible you sheared a pin on the prop, letting the armature / prop shaft turn, but prop not turning?

John, it feels like the motor is moving on the inside. Not saying it isn’t possible. Goes in Wednesday so hopefully know more after that.
