Navionics+: how to purge SonarCharts w/o purging my Nautical Charts?

This is a question for Garmin pros and/or Navionics pros.

I know the "wipe" button will wipe EVERYTHING and then you can't re-download ALL AREAS OF NAUTICAL CHARTS THAT USERS HAVE PAID FOR.

My card is getting less and less space even I only update the same area’s (using the selection box) SonarCharts!

When you UPDATE, you update all the data on the card=use more memory space.

When you use the area selection box, that adds more locations than what the card has.

Add and Update are two different functions.

If you Purge the card, you can re-download as much data as the card capacity has whether it is Nautical Charts or Sonar Charts

Wayne, I only update the same box that I chose. Seems the program is gradually eating space; not sure if old data in the box is overwritten (removed) or not by the new data.

Updated data will be more data for the same location. Otherwise there would be no update to increase the amount of data on the card.

Navionics does about 2,000 updates daily for their Nautical Charts. That is not counting any added Sonar Charts data.
