You know the foil that so many don't want to put on their motor because you have to drill the cavitation plate, mine has saved motor damage several times over the years. Damaged the plate somewhat, but saves the motor. You might consider one.

I need to speak to you about that John.
    Is that on your Stroker?
    Do you have 1.62 gears?
Does it help on hole shot?
I have no issues putting one on my motor. Tim Powell had tested his setup years ago with a foil on and determined it was affecting his WOT runnng I'll have to ask him again exactly what it was dong?
Do you have a DBR kit on our 300XS?

I had one on my 250XS (Brians foil)that saved the motor twice, and the one in the photo is on my 300XS and has also saved my motor (from a board member here, CB Marine I think) . It does help holeshot quite a bit. But I also have about 7* of extra tuck. I do have 1.62 gears. The motor is stock as I'm not allowed to run a modified motor in my tournaments. I have also heard it can knock 1 or 2 MPH off top speed on boats that are running over 100 mph. If it does, I won't miss it.
