    GM AFM CHIP

has any one used these to delete AFM long term? any results to speak of as far as mileage change,up are down? any engine problems from usage? I see mostly range and diablo brand for sale, any recommendations for these, are any other? not having any problems at this time, just tossing around the idea of maybe installing one.

Not sure why people call them “chips” anymore...
Custom tune on my 2013 afm disabled got 21 mpg highway and 18-19 back and forth to work.

If you are unfamiliar with tunes and reputable tuners, I’d recommend:

    https://www.diablewtune.com/ or http://www.blackbearperformance.com/

Either will be better than a box tuner...

I have the range and it does as advertise. Not really sure on mileage I just wanted the AFM turned off. Have been running it for 6 years now.

I’ve had the range about two years zero problems that I know of. Maybe lost one to one and a half MPG at best.

If you have the 6 speed, run it in M5. 8, M7. Problem solved.

Manual 5 will work but sucks for highway driving.

Range Technology module for 5 years on a GMC Sierra 1500 SLE 4x4. Difference in gas mileage isn’t notable.

Had a range forever now ..have loaned it out to customers to try before they buy one .. every one of them has

I prefer the way it runs with the range installed .. like a normal truck

I just figured it had to be better then the same four cylinders constantly kicking in and out.

I tried the range chip and it sent my truck into limp mode. Just sent my ecu in and flashed it

newer models can turn off and on all cylinders now. so 8 chances of lifter issues and oil consumption

Just make sure you're out of warranty or you can kiss it goodbye.

Please explain how a Range disabler voids your warranty .. a link of it happening to someone will earn extra points

Didn't you know that washing your truck voids the warranty?

I have the 10 speed and the difference between 9 and 10 is about 200 rpm.
