New Helix User - screenshot from Lake Keowee

Moved over to Humminbird with purchase of a new Skeeter. Had it out today for the first time and worked on some minor adjustments to the Helix and got a nice image of some spotted bass that were suspended. If you look closely, you can see my drop shot falling in from the top left as the bass attack it!helix091319.jpg

This is off the bow of the bow running the mega imaging on the Ultrex.

Gen 3, came on 2020 Skeeter FXR. I think I can dial the images in even a little better with some more tweaking of the various settings, but these were super clear for my first day on the water with the unit. I had a few images where I could pretty much see the bass eat the drop shot when it got down to the school.

Yes, Keowee is a gem. Lots of spotted bass. Very unique lake due to the power plant and how the lake was constructed, little structure, how it works in tandem for power production with Lake Jocassee, etc.

We towed a boat to Jocassee. Definitely the wow factor on that lake. Absolutely beautiful. Tried out all the waterfalls and let me tell you that water is cold but you probably know that. Would love to retire on or near lake Keowee. Plan on renting a home again on the lake next spring and can’t wait.

If you come in the spring and want to go fishing, contact me. The bite is usually awesome in the March & April time frame.
