    The Force is with me

It's installed, networked and ready for water on Sunday, excited would be an understatement.

Fantastic! What trolling motor did you remove to install the Garmin? More so how many new holes did you have to drill in order to install it?

Pulled a fortrex, garmin had same mounting hole pattern and didn't drill a single hole.

i've got livescope (previously owned) on the shaft, along with the uhd transducer it comes with.

It's their way of keeping the power cable and the internal transducer cable from getting twisted up.

No kidding, I am sure it is a good motor but that laird rope hanging off the head is rediculous.

Looked a bit odd to begin with, but I don't even notice it now.

I am very happy with the foot pedal. The resistance is user adjustable.

Is it very responsive when turning to a different direction?

Yes, very. The controls are wireless. From pressing full forward to full back gives you more than 360. I had to adjust the resistance to slow my foot down a bit to keep from turning it too much. I have it dead on now for how much pressure I want to apply to turn it. Another great point over cables is I sometimes leave it down and pointed 90 to the left or right and scan while using the big motor. It stays where you put it while my previous Minn Kota cable control would get pushed around by the water flow.

Had it out for the first time yesterday, Anchor held very well, below is a link to a couple of videos i took next to the shore in the wind. I need to tighten the foot pedal resistance up a little, rotation is fast and its easy to go to far. top speed that i got out of it in a cove with no wind was 4.88 mph in a 20 ft nitro 896 savage, full of fuel, empty livewells. Really like the automatic positioning when you stow the motor (puts my livescope transducer at the top no matter where the shaft rotation is at before pulling the cord). Messed around with the follow a route feature on the graph, worked well, however it makes pretty wide turns if you throw a corner in there, probably need a software change or a gain setting to make it more responsive and get it to turn tighter. Something that i found that i really liked was when i'm searching at idle with the console graph and have the motor down, and if i go over something that i wanted to look into further, i could turn the engine fully whichever way and use the trolling motor as a bow thruster, turning the boat within itself and ending up right on top of where i wanted to be instead of going over something, turning around and having to find it again.
