Well if you are ok with how a gambler stands straight up(even for just a second) then no you really don’t need the trim tabs...but I love the way the gambler keeps the bow down with the tabs...so I always use them regardless..

Those are some really good numbers! Did you have it flashed? Deltamaster put that same motor on this 2004 Outlaw with a 3 blade fury. He posted it ran 5700 @ 77.5.

He put the same motor as in a 250hp on his outlaw? If you put a new 250 V8 Pro XS on a Outlaw you should be running low to mid 80's all day long..

LOL I really doubt that this boat will run 77 gps with a 200 four stroke. So it must be flashed...

here is a link with a 21 foot triton bass boat with a 250 four stroke same motor only 50 more hp. so I know this boat will not run over 69 to 70 with a stock 200 four stroke. lol CLICK ON WATCH THIS VIDEO ON YOUTUBE

27 trophy im SURE would be the fastest and best prop around... they are still my favorites...
HOWEVER...i got tired slinging blades...and considering that 90% of the time im fishing in a tourney while in the boat, using a prop thats a time bomb for slinging a blade just is not something i can afford to do...

Have two budies that have experianced this and then talked with the tech at the mercury trailer at a tournament 2 weeks ago as he was adressing another one. A significant number of them are over heating at idle after 50 hours. After chasing it (depending on who is troubleshooting) they end up finding or calling Mercury and finding that the gasket on the waterpump housing is blowing out. There is a red sealer deal Mercury is prescribing for a fix that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. I say all this only to say, if I owned one I would wait until after I figured out if I had that issue before I did any shinanigans with the motor only to have someone put it on a computer soon after.

i hear ya’. Sold the fastest 27p Trophy I ever owned earlier this year. For the last 4 years I’ve fished Toledo Bend exclusively. The opportunity to get it strung out doesn’t happen very often. My best fishing prop is a 26p Fury 4. Luv it. Probably 3-5 mph slower than my Trophy but boat handling and attitude when running in very rough conditions is extremely good.

No my motors not flashed. Not only did it run 77plus I believe if I decide to push the envelope I think it can see 80 with the right prop. That Outlaw is the fastest 200hp rated hull on the market. I fished countless tournaments since I bought that hull in 04 and only been passed several times and none by a 200. A good friend of mind had the same hull with the 3.0 EFI pushed a 27 trophy right at 81. I wouldn't want to even try pushing that hull with a 300.

Any reason for the 250 Pro XS 4 stroke and not the 250 R 4 stroke?
