Im looking to upgrade my console unit from a 1199 to a helix mega either g2n or g3n doesnt make a difference which one to me. Im seeing some great deals on helix 9 which is very appealing but im hesitant ecause im worrued the screen size will be too small. The screen would be no further than 2' from my face at the console. Helix 9 owners what do you think?
Bigger is always better
Really big difference in size when moving from a 1199 unit to a 9" unit.
So I have a mega 9 si on a bbt mount and I can see it fine. All depends on what your using it for. If you plan to side image alot then maybe bigger to make it easier to see. The 9 is a great unit and very brite anyways. I vote 9.
It may not matter but I think the Gen2 is in a bigger case than the Gen3. The Helix 9 used to be in the same case as the Helix 10

So is there a much noticeable difference in screen size between helix 9 and 10 g2n?
Best bet it to try to go to a store that has them on display and take a look. Biggest change is when going to a 12.

Agreed. Go check them out if possible. I had a Helix9 at console and replaced it with a 12" it was a noticeable difference. If you are just going to use it for locating structure and not fish no big deal with 9", but the 12" is a much better option for seeing fish with SI.
