90/65 jet 4 stroke coil issues

Serial: 2B229711. Posting for a friend. A few months back the motor would cutout bad. Used a timing light to determine cylinders 1 and3 were not firing so he took it in to get it looked at. Long story short they only replaced one coil pack said one bad one can effect both and after 3 trips its doing it again. Seemed odd to me about just replacing one just looking for any more info or feedback thanks!

Roy... don't see any record of a coil being replaced on 2B229711. Did he pay for this?

Normally, if a coil is bad, you replace that coil.

Thats interesting. They took it in and it was covered under warranty but the dealer never seemed to have a straight answer for anything. Im trying to talk them into a different dealer. I just thought it all seemed odd and to only replace one coil pack when both had cylinders missing made zero sense to me either.
