    SIT on Amistad. Who's in?

Guess I will go donate this year. Partner has been down at our place for a few days and really hasn't got a consistent bite going, but I am ready to see some new water nonetheless. Unless the weather turns south, I will head down next week and prefish a bit then take my whoopin'.

Laying in the trailer at Holiday Park. Will prefish tomorrow. Talked to a friend that lives here. He hasn’t caught a 15-inch fish all week. Will know more tomorrow evening.

I had a 3lber in the livewell and caught 8 other bass that were all around 14 3/4”. My buddies house is in Box Canyon and he didn’t want to pull the boat to town for 1 fish. I sometimes wonder why I fish with him, now tomorrow even if we have a good day, we are already back that many more places.

You ever have one of those friends that just can’t quit going up to the bank to fish, even when you’re catching them in the grass flats? Yeah that’s my friend...So irritating.

yep some just love to run the banks and that usually will not get you to the scales.

The only hydrilla we found thick was in Mexico. Buddy said there was some up by 25 (or so) on the American side, but that it didn’t look healthy. Lots of pond weed or cabbage on the side. Didn’t find many fish in it.

We only had one keeper today too, threw it back. We hooked into 2 - 5lb stripers and we thought we had something working for us, then the disappointment when they got by the boat where we saw what they were. 14” weren’t too hard or get, but 15” was, for us anyways.

We caught fish on everything at all depths yesterday, today it was all small and on the bank. Get worse and worse every year.

There is grass everywhere we went from box north to 23, zorro caballo and most cuts have good hydrilla just not many fish in it.

Figures, we only found 2 decent patches of it; but my partner doesn’t like to run much. I think I’ll go back to fishing Choke Canyon. It’s borderline not good, but it’s better than Amistad.

Same winners as last year, they said they didn’t fish the Pecos this year.
