    Best Jig For Rocky Bottoms

Looking for suggestions for the best style jig to use on a hard bottom with chunk rock. Weedless football jigs seem to get hung up between the rock and lose quite a few.

I mostly just use round head jigs. But if I’m getting hung up in the rocks a lot, I try to pop the jig up off the bottom first. If you go in a creek and try to catch crawdads, that’s usually their go to move when you try to grab them anyway!!

Ive been lucky with arkie type heads. Ive been told (havent done it tho lol) to go as light as possible to minimize hang ups since no jig is prone to getting hung.

In the winter I fish a lake close by and I'm using 1/4 jigs in 30 to 40 or so feet. Takes a bit to get down there but a lighter jig helps alot in being able to hop it over rocks.

I use a modified football jig and go as light as I can. It has the wide part of the head shaved back , but still works like a regular football. I use a rage craw or a RI twerk for trailer . grt jigs on facebook

The lightest weight you can get by with and the biggest profile. A 1/4 oz football is the best I've found.

Most everywhere I fish its rocky. That is most of what fish use for cover. This is by far my favorite jig. Not completely snag proof but its pretty good and I catch lots of fish on em.

I use a brush head in 3/8th fishing rock, very rare to hang. Dragging rock I use footballs. About same as posted above, I just buy heads and tie my own skirts.

Lighter jigs won’t bury into the crevices.

There is three ways to modifybullet first to a flat nose second go with a wire loop spring loaded guard. Third
hand tie (uplostery thread) the skirt with a base flare against the jig head it makes it very weedless in any structure. It can be done to any style jig head you build. I build my own loop guards all my jig molds are modified to to doand I have a company that make my custom fiberguards made and my wire loop guards I make myself.

The best 2 I have found in rocks are a Arkie head, and a brush head jig.
    Both in 3/8oz

I can make both of these jigs for you!
