    carpeting deck extension - glue

ive read countless threads. and looking at whats available to me I do have a few choices without breaking the bank.

    Roberts 6700
    3m 77 spray

are the 2 main ones that should work.

My question remains though.... will it work sticking it down on something that i coated in a Resin finish. its not just a bare wood finish.

Im hal temped to just use the 3m 77 spray but not sure if it would be ok seeings its a fairly high traffic area being in the middle of the bow.

Just get a qt of Weldwood contact cement, apply per the directions and you'll have some leftover for household jobs.

issues is with weldwood... i dont have access to it locally.

amazon canada wants 80 bucks for a quart of it which is nuts. I can get the 6700 for under 15$ same goes for the spray. If I could find weldwood original for an affordable price i'd get it but I have yet to find a quart of it for a reasonable price.

I’d rather pay 80 bucks for my carpet to stick than 15 bucks for my carpet to “maybe” not stick.......as good.

I get what your saying but hard pill to swallow when you need maybe half of a quart of that weldwood to glue a 3'x4' ish piece of carpet.

I got about 60 bucks invested in it using left over material I had. Including the matching carpet I bought directly from ranger (shockingly wasnt expensive)

I'm more so just curious if certain contact cements/ glues wont work over resin surface.

If I had plans on fixing more areas and I know I'd use the wildwood for other areas it would be a no brainer

If you are fishing the 1000 Islands BFL next weekend, I'd buy a qt here and bring it to Clayton for you. If not fishing, find out if my old friend from your town Charles Simm is fishing and we can work something out. I just checked the price on Lowes web site and with tax = $15 (US). Let me know. Hey Bill.s I dont plan on fishing at 1000 islands. Hockey season is starting up for me this weekend is typically one of my last outings of the season for me sadly.

Keep me posted if your buddy is going down. im interested (im in no real rush for the concact cement...

On the other hand. I did just email a company i found on the 3rd page deep using google. their pricing the quart at 26.50 which I can deal with but going to find out what kind of shipping fee's tag along with that so ill keep you posted on that one as well).

if all else fails i dont got much to loose per say with the robertson 6700 except 15 of product and a 3x4ft piece of carpet (got plenty extra)

It is me that is going, driving up there tomorrow. I still have time to run over to Lowes about 2 miles away, if you want it.

Ah just saw your message was out all weekend with no service. Prob late now... either way much appreciate the offer! I'll test out the Robertson stuff if it fails shortly after I'll know better next time and spend the coin.
