I run Lowrance units but I am wanting to put a solo bird unit on the bow for mapping purposes only with the new Lakemaster chip. Don't need DI, SI or sonar. Something in the 10"-12" range.
What would be good budget minded unit to go with?

The lowest cost unit would be a Sonar/CHIRP unit. If you can find a pre-owned Helix 10 GPS or Helix 12 CHIRP GPS unit that is three generations old, those would be a good choice.
Otherwise a G2N or G3N model that is CHIRP only.
