Removing Livewell CullTag Holder, Install VT-2

Have a 2019 921 ProXP. Want to install VT-2 vents, but the cull tag holder on the starboard side Livewell lid is in the way. I was told by Tim at Phoenix it was welded on, but I'm wondering if it is just a couple tack welds (and maybe I could pry the holder off) or if it is a full length weld. Anyone removed this before?

I think most of the guys here are installing the VT-2s in front of or behind the cull tag holder.

I installed mine right behind the cull holder. There is enough room and they recommend you center the vent over the middle if your live well so it works out better and you get to keep the cull holder.

My Handle/ Latch isn't all that far behind the cull tag holder. Looks like the VT-2 would overlap the Latch...at a minimum a couple of the cull tag slots would be very hard if not impossible to access. Can someone post some pics of what they did (top and bottom of lid install would be awesome)?

I drilled through a portion of the tag holder - hole saw went right through it. As long as you don't hit the vertical bend you can leave it in place.

I just installed the VT-2 vents in my 2017 920. I removed the Livewell lid from boat and also removed the foam backing from Livewell lid. The cull tag holder is welded to the lid in a couple of places. I used a Dremel tool with small grinding wheel to cut the welds and basically had to pry the cull tag holder off. Took a little while to do, but worked OK. I did call Tim at Phoenix and got a new piece of foam for Livewell lid.

My 2019 721 doesn't have a cull tag holder that I know inside the lid...Unless it is something I'm not recognizing to be a tag holder lol

That is odd... Starboard side, underside of lid? You'll know it if it's there. Call Tim at Phoenix if it isn't.

My 721 does not have a cull tag holder. It’s an option or only standard on 9 series boats.

I ended up drilling thru the cull tag holder with the hole saw. Still a few small pieces on either side of installed VT-2 that I will remove this Winter, but this way the vents are more centered over the Livewell.

Ripped that sucker off then drilled the hole
