    Line breaking

Whats the best way to clean paint from hook eye that has been powder coated. Lost a good fish then the second one broke on a fish in the boat.

I would just use a hook from another lure.

I quit buying jigs where the makers are careless enough to trash up the line tie. Pet peeve of mine!

I actually make a lot of jigs, and if powder coated and the entire hole is not filled with paint, the paint is actually like a buffer and works just fine. When you go to trying to get it all out, sometimes you rough up the inner line tie as well as have a little paint chipping in there, and its a lot worse on your line than just tying to to the jig with the paint in the eye, as long as its smooth and even looking. I hope this makes sense, kind of hard to explain.
